Guest guest
Dear Chronic Pain Group, May 18, 2010 Hi, my name is Tammy. I have been dealing with pain since a back injury in my teens. I have been diagnosed with lower back bone spurs and osteoarthritis in my shoulders and hips. I am now in my 40's and am looking for others who can identify with me and me with them. I have received some support from my family but they really don't seem to " get it " . Why can't you keep your home in order, why can't you bend down, why don't you exercise more and loose weight, why can't you work more? Because I hurt! Just because I look fine doesn't mean I am fine. I have my good days and bad days. Problem with my soon to be ex-husband (of over 20 years )is that he thought I should be able to do the things on my bad days that I could do on my good days. We had other issues too but his not understanding didn't help the marriage. My kids help out but they have picked up some of there Dad's attitude of reluctance. When the jobs I had required standing got to be too much I went back to college and I now have a desk job. That has helped greatly with my pain but it doesn't pay as well as say a factory job. To counter act my lower income I penny pinch and cook at home a lot. I still want to enjoy life and monthly try to take my kids (both teen boys) to free activities like hot air balloon shows, trips to visit family etc. Well hope everyone has a Good Day today! Yours, Tammy
