Guest guest
Interesting you bring up showers, I don't have a shower but I can tell you this getting in the bath and laying in it for awhile is great but when I get out oh boy here comes the pain. everyone will say but you're supposed to feel better after taking a bath, yeah normal people who don't have fms or anything like it. I remember taking a vacation to hot springs Ark. now that was great. never felt better than there getting hot massages and being in those hot springs does do wonders for people who suffer with fms, probably one of reasons doctors say to migrate to Arizona. You need to find gadgets and ways to make your life easier, I know I did. I am there with you guys and feel like a whale turning around in my bath tub getting on my side to get to the bar to pull me up. Boy, I am sure that looks really especially if it were a picture. I have found many replacements to assist me. lol Bennie
Guest guest
I'm not sure what your diagnosis is but what you describe I've heard others talk about exactly the same all over skin sensitivity. The name of it escapes my brain right now. People search for the softest clothing they can find. I've heard even hair brushing the face can cause terrible pain. I believe this is a nerve condition where every skin sensation is perceived as pain. That must be awful. On my back there are some areas where shower water feels like it's burning my skin and I take very lukewarm showers. I tend to overheat easy and all that work washing my hair wears me out. I see now the practicality of having short hair. Do you take anything for nerve pains or neuropathy? Neurontin (generic is gabapentin) is a common one. Guest guest
I am very sensitive to the water preessure. It feels like being stabbed with needles. I got an adjustable head for it and can dial it down to a trickle which is much more comfortable. I suspect the hand held one would do the same. And I love my chair. I just discovered these and am much more likely to just take a shower without a big preparation for it now. If so, and he did nothing? I would get another doctor. There are two medications that I kand think of right now, the first is Gabapentin( At least I think so) also know as Neurontin,The second is Lyrica pronounsed Leer-ica. Ask him about those two. At first they started Gabapentin but I just kept going up in the dosage so my PCP prescribed 100MG but I started at 25MG,then 50MG then after two weeks I was prescribed the last dose that works great for me , is 100MG's. By the way, I take showers and feel no pain except the sciatica pain, thats a whole nother story. You can go to www.webMD.com and look up Gabapentin and or , Neurontin. cincerely , /New York

Guest guest
I also wait until the bathroom gets all hot and steamy before I get out of the shower. Then I enjoy the hot room. It makes my hips and ankles feel good.I also take my shower just before bed. It helps release some of the extremely tight muscles in my back. Blessed be, Ms.Katurah >Skye wrote: >Hello, I have a problem with showers also, but it is when I get out of the shower .It feels like a thousand needles are poking me.So now I wait till the bathroom is all hot and steamy.
