My doctor who is my pain doctor told me that I would run the risk of having more

pain after my surgery. But I have a disc completely gone and have bone on bone

almost. I also have one nerve being severely compressed by scar tissue so I

don't see many options for me.

My first two operations helped for a short period of time. All I can hope is

that the fusion reduces the instability that I currently have and lowers some of

the pain.

I ended up with rebound headaches due to being on pain meds too many years and

last fall they had to take me off of all pain medications for 6 months it was a

living hell.

I hope that anyone else who is pending surgery like I am does get some pain

relief.

Mist,

You pain Doctor is right! Surgery is not the answer, surgery will create more

scar tissue and then you will be in a vicious circle of needing more surgery

every 2 years or so. Think about it long and hard, this could actually make you

worst. Read this article and see what i am talking about from a WebMD Feature

from " Good Housekeeping " Magazine.

That is why I had the second surgery. Is because of a build up of scar tissue

but I don't know of any way to remove it without more surgery and my low back is

extremely unstable as the bottom disc is almost none existant and is causing

(was) sever pain prior to 7 injections I had into my spine last thursday.

I am pending hearing back from the surgeon's office to find out just what he

wants to do. I paniced during the injections and almost fainted I was soaked

with sweat which has never happened to me before.

If I don't have the surgery I will eventually loose all function to my left leg

first then my right leg.

So I'm kinda stuck.
