Guest guest
Hi Debbie, welcome to the list. One thing I've learned is that some people get it and some don't and there isn't much you can do about it. But it's so hard. Sometimes I just want to shake people and scream " Grab a f***ing clue! Does their dad agree with the diagnosis? or is that part of the problem in you r marriage? I have 2 son's both HFA although the youngest is probably aspergers. It does get to be a challenge. Guest guest
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I'm originally from New York, but relocated to Chicago in 1994. Have a question for everyone. starts his third year at Headstart in 3 weeks (he turned 5 on August 2nd but I didn't feel he was ready for Kindergarten). Anyway, he is required by the state to receive the varicella vaccine, which neither one of my kids received yet because my ped didn't recommend it. What are your thoughts on this vaccine?? --- Amy Helmuth wrote: > Welcome Debbie! Guest guest
Is this the chicken pox vaccine? My opinion...It shouldn't be required...and for no other reason than it just shouldn't be. Penny

Guest guest
Little know and definately not advertised - you don't have to get your kids their shots. You can object. You have to sign a form, stating that you object to your child receiving whatever shot is required. That is unless you live in the state of Wisconsin, where they passed a law, this past spring, making it a gross misdormeaner to not have your kids vaccinated. Just ask your school for the form and fill it out. End of problem. > > Welcome Debbie! Guest guest
I am sure someone will say this but, you dont have to give your child any vaccine you dont want to. Just tell them you want to sign the waiver requiring vaccines. I have signed one for each of my boys. Jacquie H > > Welcome Debbie! Guest guest
Debbie, My son has the vaccine and my pediatrician said a few years ago she would not have recommened it, but now she does. So we gave it to him - no ill affects. Sharon Re: Introduction Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I'm originally from New York, but relocated to Chicago in 1994. Guest guest
Both my kids have had the Varicella vaccine. Since then, they have BOTH been exposed to chicken pox an average of 3 times each...while it was in it's most contagious stages. Neither of them have gotten it.......I'm all for it, and my pediatrician's office has it as part of the required shots....I'd go for it. Dh and I get out together about twice a year if we're lucky. Cause he works late, at the weekend I get my girlfriends to come round to our house for a movie and a bottle of wine.
