For those of you who don't know Bev, she is a good friend of my family and

her husband Vic and Rudy once worked together. As you all know I don't

typically forward SPAM! But this is a worthwhile cause and I urge you to

participate.

Subject: Bradley's project

Hello!

Bradley is really enjoying first grade. He is doing very well, so we came

up with a project for him that would involve a lot of outside work that

will be challenging. He was diagnosed for his diabetes in January of '99

at 5-1/2. It was a whole lot of changes in a very quick amount of time, but

he is now giving himself the fingerpricks four times/day and we are so

proud of him for that. Not many adults could handle that one!

The American Diabetic Association is trying to collect 1 million signatures

on petitions to " plop " on Congress' desk in March of 2000. These petitions

state that they want Congress to spend some money on diabetic research.

To-date, very little is spent on it. The director of NIH (National

Institute of Health) apparently doesn't think it needs much attention. Vic

and I have been focusing Bradley's attention on his life in the future

(i.e., if you eat well, and take care of yourself NOW, then you will feel

good as a Daddy later). He is such a disciplined child and works hard at

eating the right foods--with or without us around! We are so thankful for

that! He is trying to earn a trip to Washington D.C. and he can do so by

collecting 2,500 signatures. Would you allow us to write your name down on

his petition sheet? Children are welcomed to do so as well. Bradley has

his whole class helping him. The other day the teacher read this book

about diabetes and then had a question and answer time for the children.

The teacher said Bradley did such a good job! He loves to teach and

explain things. We truly think that God will use Bradley--in a diabetic

form and showing him just how many people care about what he goes through

each day--will be enlightening for him. We cannot wait for him to see all

of the other people there in D.C.

All we need is an o.k. to use your name and the names of those in your

family--including your children. PLEASE GIVE US YOUR COMPLETE NAME--AS

PLACED ON YOUR LEGAL DOCUMENTS. Would you mind spreading this on to those

on your mailing lists or e-mail listings? Please have them e-mail us at
