There are many out there that he can try. It is better to be on an extended release medication than on a short term one like Vicodin or Oxycodone. With An extended release, abbreviated ER you only have to take 2 or 3 a day. The pain relief lasts for hours instead of the 2 to 3 hours that you get with Vicodin or Percocet.
