Guest guest
Does anyone get these and what do you do about it? Thanks, Caitlin
Guest guest
I haven't had one in about 6 months but I used to get them frequently. Two things helped me: l-lysine 500 mg twice a day and Abreva on a q-tip rubbed onto the sore at the first sign and then used a couple of times a day until the sore is gone. I believe the sores are in the same viral family as cold sores, chicken pox, shingles, and herpes. The l-lysine is what I think has kept me from getting them again. I also take 3 grams of vitamin C a day and I think that may have helped also.
Guest guest
Thanks . But what is Abreva? I do take L-lysine already and Vit. C everyday. I know I have a compromised immune system but beside Fibro they haven't yet figured it out. Thanks, Caitlin I haven't had one in about 6 months but I used to get them frequently. Guest guest
> Does anyone get these and what do you do about it? Hi Caitlin There are so many types of sores, that can reoccur, at the front of the nose, or on your lip, that I would have my doctor take a look at it. It is quite likely to be a herpes infections sore, that explained very well. My Mom used to call those either a fever blister, or a cold sore. Here is a link will all kinds of mouth, and lip sores. Many of these are quite graphic, but cold sores, shingles, and fungus are listed about 15 pictures down. http://www.entusa.com/oral_photos.htm Kaylene PS Please let us know what your doctor says. Good luck Kaylene
Guest guest
Wow, thanks for the info but luckily mine aren't as bad as any in those graphic pictures. Thank goodness. Going to the Dr. today, will let you know. The more research I did, the more I realized it could be serious. I was thinking it was just from dry heat. Guest guest
Yes, he did and called me himself. It was MRSA--which totally creeped me out. --- Caitlin wrote: > > , > > Did they do an actual culture or swab the nose to find out you had staph? I'm concerned my Dr. didn't do anything to diagnose me.
