Are you? > Robyn, What did your doctor that did your fusion say it would do for you? My neurosurgeon was very up front and told me that my degenerative disc disease pain would still remain but it would give me the structural support that I needed to stay on my feet as you described. My fibromylagia was triggered the year I had three surgeries so I believe it is triggered and may have been there but not caused by. The research says viruses, surgery, traumatic events trigger it, so who nows. I believe it is that the pain trigger is left open and it never closes and the theory that it is caused by a substance P is true. Who knows, but it hurts. I am so sorry you have so much pain from your surgery. I am mad that I had an auto accident on the way home from my physical therapy after my fusion and damaged my SI joint and that is my pain point now. I have to chose what I do also and I hope you get better pain relief. I had a three level fusion so I took the chance. Hopefully, I can get some relief for my SI joint pain.
