Guest guest
Hi All, When I was in a car accident over 3 years ago. I was taking Percocet. That really help with the pain. Well I found a bottle (still good to use) and I started taking it yesterday and it really help with the pain. I was taking Aleve but really didn't help with the pain. I asked my orthopedic Dr yesterday for a pain killer medication. He prescribe 800 mg of the Ibuprofen. I'm under Working Comp and I don't know where else I can get the medication. I have a broken screw in my ankle which the Dr refuse to take it out because if they have to drill or break my bone and put the new screw in it may not heal the same way. I was going for Physical Therapy and stop after 16 sessions and have to wait. I do have exercises to do at home. I just don't know what to do. I feel like the Dr is not listening to me and I want to go back to my other orthopedic Dr. (he's a cutie). I don't know what to do. I need to go the medication is kicking in and making me sleepy. All feedback are appreciated. \ Christa
Guest guest
Hello Christa, I have taken the 800 mg Ibufrufen quite often. The Ibuprufen 800 mg is pretty good medication. It can be effective at relieving pain with minimal side effects. It is not addictive and does not give you any doped up feeling. It is fairly inexpensive as meds go these days. My one side effect is some blurring of vision which goes away after cutting back on the intake for a day. The " war on drugs " is making it tough to get a number of the commonly used drugs , like Percocet. Good luck with the Ibuprufen and your recovery. donpat Christa wrote: I asked my orthopedic Dr yesterday for a pain killer medication. He prescribe 800 mg of the Ibuprofen. Guest guest
Hi! After my first back surgery, I was in agony for three months. I kept calling my surgeon and he prescribed some neurontin, which did nothing and then ignored me. This time, (after 4 surgeries) I was sent to pain management. What a difference! I never even knew so many different pain meds existed! When I think back to that time and how much pain I endured for so long, I really feel a little upset. Had I known, I would have gone to pain management. So I think that's what you need to do.Good Luck! On Tue, Aug 24, 2010 at 12:17 PM, Christa Dondero wrote: >> I just don't know what to do. Guest guest
Christa, How long have you taken the Percocet? I have been on it for 2 years and don " t have any problems with it when I take it with soda. But it could be that my body is just so used to it by now because I do remember that it made my stomach nauseous in the beginning. I would definitely take it with food and see if that helps. I could not function without it. It brings my pain down from a 10 to a 6 most days. I hope it will do the same for you.
