Guest guest
I also have fibromyalgia and verified nerve damage at the nerve root at C7 bilaterally and C8 on the left. I have these lumps here and there on my arms and body as you describe. My doctor called them fatty tumors but I also have fatty tumors and they are not painful like these harder lumps. As you say they tend to radiate pain. I'm hoping someone has more information to give about these painful lumps because I have always felt that the doctor is guessing wrong but I wouldn't have a clue what type of doctor to go to and I can't afford to go to doctors just to find an answer. My fibromyalgia has also gotten worse over the years, so I don't believe any doctor that says it doesn't. I've have a nerve conduction test on my arms and the results came back as " permanent nerve damage with small findings of slight carpal tunnel " all in the right hand/arm. Now I'm feeling these " lumps " in the left arm/hand as well and sometimes I get " electrical type pain " on the bottoms of both feet. More right than left. Yes, I have Fibro. I have had it since my early thirties. I'm now 50 and it's only getting worse.
Guest guest
Hello, For electrical type pain in feet: 1) do you have diabetes or been tested for it-it can cause neuropathy in feet 2) do you take or have you taken Lyrica? Lyrica induced neuropathy in my feet (which caused the type of symptoms you're describing) For the lumps near joints: 1) could it be calcium deposits? I have those in my arms and its the same thing you are describing 2) before they diagnosed the calcium deposit, I was having joint issues (pain, swelling, nerve type pain) they thought I had something called psuedo-gout which causes lumps like calcium deposits just in different locations. I hope you can find out what is wrong and get a diagnosis. Permanent nerve damage in the lower back can certainly cause nerve pain in the feet. Good luck, Caitlin During the last several weeks, I've noticed small to medium sized " lumps " underneath my skin that radiate pain to the nearest joint. Guest guest
Hi Caitlin, No on the diabetes. As for Lyrica, I don't take it any longer.I couldn't take the side effects (this was quite some time ago), however I DO take gabapentin.Does this medication produce the same side effect that Lyrica would with my feet? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch Patty

Guest guest
JEANETTE, I have them in legs, arms, and back. they will feel better massaged out as much as you can stand the pain. over a period of time will shift places and set up somewhere else, or swell more but never go away completely.. I tell my twenty, eighteen, and sixteen year old that some nights are asleep and others are awake... they wonder how I live with it and I say, " What's my option? " message taken. Welcome, I would get your doctor to check your lumps as none of us are doctors. You could do some research on Bakers cysts, gangelion cysts, or synovial cysts as they occur with Osteo arthritis and fibromylagia some say. I am sorry you are having problems. I would check with your doctor expecially since you are using Suboxone because the doctors that prescribe this are required by the SAMHSA to keep records on symptoms that the patients are experiencing because of the nature of the medication and how it is used. The doctors that prescribe Suboxone are especially trained and paid extra money for prescribing this medication to patients to get off opiates and only those clinics can dispense them and they have to send in reports on the patients. The Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is the government agency that oversees Buprenorphine (and other drugs used for substance abuse treatment). Their website could be helpful to you in locating a doctor who is licensed to prescribe Buprenorphine legally. My guess would be that your current doctor is not, or if she is, she is not following the rules. The SAMHSA web site will not only give you information about the drug itself, it will also give you a list of doctor and/or treatment centers in your area that are licensed. The link to the web site is” Buprenorphine Physician and Treatment Program Locator and from the Suboxone site, the company state this is what the medication is for: he naloxone in SUBOXONE is there to discourage people from dissolving the tablet and injecting it. When SUBOXONE is placed under the tongue, as directed, very little naloxone reaches the bloodstream, so what the patient feels are the effects of the buprenorphine. However, if naloxone is injected, it can cause a person dependent on a full opioid agonist to quickly go into withdrawal. SUBOXONE at the appropriate dose may be used to:• Reduce illicit opioid use• Help patients stay in treatment by• Suppressing symptoms of opioid withdrawal • Decreasing cravings for opioids I respect those who chose this option but I cannot take one pill to replace another one, for me, it doesn't make sense. I hope you get better but you need to contact your doctor and see what's going on. I hope you feel better and let us know how you are. Guest guest
All of these emails had something in it for me to think about. First I have been thinking for the last couple of weeks that I would like to get off pain meds especially the fentanyl patches. How did you do it? I am on lyrica and the Dr. just upped the dosage today to 100mg for the pain. I was on gabentin (sp) for over a year but I became so disoriented and would fall into things, etc. so everyone is different. I would be interested in knowing how you came off narcotics. I am still in a lot of pain on everything I am on. Lois
