Hello Candy -

Welcome to the group.

There's a prescription topical gel that contains an NSAID (non-steroidal

anti-inflamatory, such as Advil). The brand name is Voltaren, the drug is

actually diclofenac sodium. It works on localized pain and inflammation, unlike

the lidocaine patch which just numbs the area.

The gel is particularly useful for areas of the body where you can't wear a

patch, such as hands. I find it very useful for my arthritis and tendonitis in

my hands and wrists.

There's also a patch with a similar anti-inflammatory medication for localized

use for pain and inflammation, called Flexeril. It's good for larger areas like

shoulders or knees.

Hope this was the information you needed.
