I am currently taking 800 mg four times a day and have not seen any results so far. I have been on it since December of last year. Hi in PA 3,200mg per day of Neurontin, is a high dose, but some people take more. Naturally with each increase in dosage you are more likely to have an increase in side affects. If the Neurontin, isn't helping you, don't let your doctor bully you into taking it. Several years ago, Pfizer had doctors believing that Neurontin helps with every kind of pain, but it doesn't. Needless to say, there was a lawsuit, and Pfizer finally had Neurontin approved to treat neuropathy pain. I took Neurontin, for many years for neuropathy pain, and it helped. Now, I take Lyrica, and it helps more, plus I take a much lower dosage. Unfortunately, I have to put up with the side affects, (Primarily, forgetfulness, and a sense of fogginess) but it's worth it to me. I'm so glad we have been helpful to you. If it's cumbersum to reach each post, you might wish to switch to the Daily Digest. Once again, please do not let a doctor bully you into any medication that is not helping you. If you do chose to go off of it, go of slowly. Kaylene Moderator PS If someone is taking Neurontin, here in the US, there is a generic available called Gabapentin. Canada, has had the generic available for many years.
