Guest guest
Thanks again Becky. I was planning on calling him back Monday to discuss further. I talked to the nurse earlier and told them I need a couple months to recoup after paying them almost $1,000, and I still owe some. Don't even know if then I'll be able to do it. I am buried in bills and only oneincome to pay them. I am just hoping my doctor doesn't mess with giving me the pain medications I need. I just started oxycodone last week. I was hoping to be able to get off of them, but that just don't look promising for a while. At least they are cheap. I guess the insurance would rather pay to keep me doped up. ugh Thanks for listening! S Becky wrote: My insurance company is very strict about what I can and cannot have done. I feel like they are my doctor and are making my health decisions. I asked for permission to go to Mayo Clinic and was just denied so am not too happy. Hang in there and feel free to email off list if you ever just need to vent.
Guest guest
All I can suggest is to talk to the billing office at the doc. Maybe they will reduce what you owe. They probably can right off a certain amount. Have you applied for disability? It takes over a yr to get in some cases but eventually you get medical coverage. Have you tried appying for medical assistance through public welfare. they will back pay 3 months of doc bills. At one point in the past I was without medical coverage. I was unable to get any of my medication. Not only was I in severe pain, but I crashed into a deep depression. I became suicidal. It was only sheer will power that kept me from doing anything. My therapist was the one to two who would see me. He gave me a break on the visits. My diabetic doctor didn't charge me for the office visit and gave me free insulin. Like I said, talk to the billing person and your doctor. Are you on Lycria or Neurotin for the nerve pain? I hope this information is helpful. My heart goes out to you. Big hugs, Tami
Guest guest
Thanks Tami He just started me on oxycodone.(10 mg/325) I really don't like it during the day. It makes me want to nap too much. How does that Lyrica and neurontin work? I will take any /all suggestions. I am sick of being a guinea pig and paying tons of $ for meds that don't work. ugh. My pain Doc is really easy on giving you what you ask for, thank God! I told him I was on a couple online support groups, so he let me tell him what I wanted to try. Oxycodone seems to work for a lot of people-just wish the drowsiness factor would go away. I'm going to set aside Monday to call my doc, the surgical center and anyone else who will listen. lol I figure that the doctors should be used to people with money issues since chronic pain does not allow you to work a lot. I do some home phone work for a veterans charity. I don't make much, about enough to try to keep the creditors from suing me, apy for my meds, and maybe a copay. Thanks for listening..Hugs to all! Guest guest
Hi , I had myself off Gabapentin (Neurontin) completely April 14th. I used it for close to 2 years and then it boomeranged. It made me hurt 3 times worse. Everything hurt so bad -- my back. I was about in tears having to do the things that need to be done. The Tramadol didn't help much because it was the Gabapentin making the pain worse, not the Fibromyalgia. My back was bad, I didn't dare stoop down anymore because I couldn't get back up. It made me moody, sometime hostile and depressed and I had heart flutters so bad that it seemed like I couldn't catch my breath. , this is just MY experience with it. Others maybe doing great on it. I had my doctor appointment on April 27th. He said he was glad that I discontinued taking it. -- Suzi wrote: neurontin work?
Guest guest
Thanks Suzi I have heard that before. It looks like I'm going to have to hunker down and put my back on hold until I can save up for this darn co-pay. It makes me so sick how greedy they are. Even without my tiny co-pay(to them),they will still make thousands off the insurance. Oh well that is my morning vent. lol My daughter graduates 8th grade at the end of the month, so I have to pay for that..always something. I was just so hoping I would be able to enjoy it with a little less pain. It is also embarrassing sometime to not be able to stand around all the young parents. I'm just still trying to come to terms with my limited abilities. Well, thanks for the advice again. Have a nice Sunday! S >Suzi Hi , >I had myself off Gabapentin (Neurontin) completely April 14th.
