I have been living in this fibro pain for many years now and I have done what

all the doctors have told me to do. The only thing that they will give me for

the pain is tramadol, I have been taking it for a little over three years now

and it doesnt help.

It is funny that most docs are scared that the people with chronic pain will

become addicted to pain meds, which after three years on tramadol, HELLO!! I am

dependant. So why not give me something stronger.

Anyway getting back to the point, I have been reading about LDN for fibro and it

sounds like it could work. To make a long story short, a family member of mine

is on suboxone ( a drug similar to naltrexone) it has naltrexone in it. So I

figured what the heck, so I tried it for two weeks. I started off my taking 2mg

in the morn and 2mg at night and now take 4mg in the morn and 4mg at night and

low and behold, my pain is not gone, but it is manageable and my joints dont

hurt as bad and I can sleep better at night. And I dont take the tramadol

anymore either.

Whether it was wrong or not to do this I havent figured that out yet, but I know

that I feel alot better and I can have somewhat a life again. So how can I

suggest to my doc that this does work. Or will he be so mad that I went behind

his back without his knowledge.

HELP!!!!

Hmmm. Maybe you could find a GP who has been in business a while and knows

lots of other doctors and he can refer you to a pain doctor who he knows is

not so conservative?
