Do you have an actual diagnosis, or just a description of your symptom? It would be beneficial to know the cause so that you can apply the safest treatment. Good morning Cheryl (AZ.), I was diagnosed with both herniated and bulging disc's plus lumbar spinal stenosis to go along with Cervical and thoracic spinal stenosis. I don't know why it is, that the moist heat works on killing that pain, but it does. There are other occassions when only ice works but those are few and far between. I had the first one done last year, in Feb. and it lasted until May of this year. I think I got my money's worth on that shot,lol.
