Guest guest
I have talked to my Primary Care Doctor and they have sent a letter of refferal to a Pain Management doctor. She has looked at my MRI. She had a worry, as my neck was swollen. My Primary Care Doctor had not made it clear that I have a goiter, so it looked like something more serious to the pain management doctor. She wanted to know if I had health issues that would effect long term pain management. My regular doctor sent her a letter telling her about my last exam on Monday and that she observed that I have nerve damage that she was very conserned about. She has me going for more MRIs and catscans of my neck and lower back. Whatever she checked for on Monday, she said was a lot worse than the last MRI exam that I had done in May. I have the most respect for my Primary Care Doctor. She also told me that the Pain Management doctor that just let me go had been dissmissing at leat 4 prople a week. She has been having trouble getting them into pain management. She said she did not know what was going on with their office and that she did not believe all those people were not taking meds. Some people had been let go for not wanting to have surgery. I told her I had one surgery that was a failure, why put myself through that again? If I am unable to walk or loose control of my bowel or bladder, then I will have surgery. She agreed that it was my decision to have surgery and she does not push anyone, unless it is life threatening. We talked about how people with pain get treated like addicts. I have even had people who have chronic pain tell me that I need to see a psychiatrist because I made the statement that I was depressed because of haw much pain I have been in, because of been dismissed and falsely accused of not taking my meds. I know i will not tell anyone who my doctor is this time. My mother is upset because she said it is important that her and my dad know about my doctors, in case of a emergancy. I told her I am thirty-nine years old and that is stuff only my husband and son need to know. I don't ask her medical information and don't want to know. in Kentucky
