Guest guest
Greetings! Here is some basic information for posting to the Chronic Pain Group. Please post in fairly short paragraphs. Remember to insert paragraph breaks in your posts. Do not type fifty lines of text and not put paragraph breaks in anywhere. Unless a person has exceptionally good vision, blocks of text are almost impossible to read. (That’s why books, newspapers, etc. always have paragraphs). We have a large number of members with severe vision problems. Please think of them and remember to use your Enter Key to make paragraphs. Many of our vision impaired and blind members use computer programs to read the mail aloud to them. Therefore do not use text messaging abbreviations such as plz, u, r and the like. Avoid abbreviations as much as possible - example: try to remember to type “year” instead of “yr” and “months” instead of “mos.” Most computer readers will turn “mos” into moss, which will make no sense to someone using a read aloud program. When replying to someone else’s post, please take time to trim the excess material from the old post. Delete the advertisements and tags that Yahoo adds to each post. Also delete the parts of the old post that are not needed. Do not re-post everything that the previous writer wrote -- just keep the two or three sentences that are relevant to your reply. The easiest way to understand these requests is to look at the formatting in the replies sent to the group by other members. Excess old Yahoo material has been removed and the previous poster’s email has been edited down to the essentials. Just follow that format and you’ll do fine. This is an inclusive, international group. Please think of others when you type. We want what you write to be available to all readers. Thanks.
