Well, after being on the patch for 12 hours I was having a hard time breathing

again so I took the patch off. Of course it works a long time past that. I

began to have a " histimine reaction " which caused my eyes to almost swell shut

and my head nose got completed stopped up even though my nose wasn't runny.

Since I was already having a hard time breathing this made it worse. I only

slept for a few hours last night because I was afraid to go to sleep. It is now

11 am and I'm finally feeling better.

I had a bad reaction to Morphine Sulfate, too. The breathing became so bad and

I had a huge pressure on my chest. Every time I stood up I almost passed out

and had to be helped back down by my husband. I had to go to the emergency room

for that one.

The doctor told me that because I had a reaction to the Morphine he's afraid to

try Oxycontin. Also, because I sweated some with Perocet if used on a

continuous basis.

I'm back on the Vicodin 20 mg twice a day and 10 mg in the evening which only

works for about 3-1/2 hours after taking the two and hardly at all after taking

the one. And there are many hours at bedtime and in the early morning and

between doses that I am a very high level of pain.

I just don't know what to do or how to get my pain doctor to try something like

Oxycontin. He just doesn't want to give it to me.

Any suggestions? I tried finding another pain specialist but the only ones

close to me that take my Medicare Advantage health plan don't like giving

medications or only give the coritisone shots and no medication.

Thanks,

Cheryl Tiller
