I never tell anyone what kind of medication I take, except for this list and my doctors. I live in a big city, and I am just way too afraid to talk about the kind of medication (controlled substance), or the exact name of what I take. Me or my dogs would be no barrier to some drug addict money fiend with no scruples who wanted to steal my pills from me. And if the bad-folks knew or learned via gossip or the grape vine what kind of medication I had in the house, I would just not be or feel safe at home. To me my medication is my life. I am not addicted. I cannot function properly without it. I respect it. To others it is a way to make instant cash. One of my pills on the street can easily go for $50-100 around here. Not only are my meds worth more than gold or items that could be pawned for pennies on the dollar, I would never be able to get a replacement prescription from any doctor if anything were to happen to my meds. They don't even want to let me get them a day early at the pharmacy! Anyhow, so true! It's just not safe to tell anyone about medications. If they are not after them to steal and sell, or use them, or hand them out to friends, then they might accidentally tell someone who would do those things. Well, either that, or they are so ready to judge me, and call me a drug addict, or try to minimize my need for them. Mum's the word.
