Good intentions

Hi Everyone

I do believe that many people have good intentions. They just don't know what to

say to us.

Granted, there are hurtful remarks, ie my sister who is a physical therapist who

used to say " if you tried harder. " It took me a long time to forgive those

words.

I finally remembered that she said the same thing about my bipolar disorder. I

did go to therapy, but it finally took the right medication combination to

manage it.

I vote for giving people the least amount of information, not talking about

medications, especially narcotics, and a large dose of forgiveness.

It also helps to simply avoid those who will not stop giving negative comments,

that are hurtful, and cause me emotional distress.

Oddly enough, when I had to begin living with nerve pain from knee replacement

surgery, in addition to eons with fibromyalgia, my Mom and I were finally able

to develop a close relationship.

She had nerve pain, due to multiple blood clots in her legs. We actually got

along the last few years of her life. She passed away

in 2004.

Life is full of surprises.

PS I am not trying to start a lot of posts about people who do not under stand

our pain. We have talked about a zillion times. <smile>
