My weird emergency room experience

A couple of years ago I went to the ER with cronic kidney stone pain.

I was seen very quickly because they could see I was in sever pain.

While I was in the exam room waiting for the Dr. to see me, a nusres assistant

(volunteer) came into the room and started asking questions about insurance,

religious preference and all that kind of stuff.

During the questioning I said I wish it would just end (the pain that is). The

older lady doing the questioning left the room.

A few minutes later a real big police officer came in and asked me to sign some

papers commiting my self to the rubber room. I refused and asked why they were

doing this. They said that I said I had threatened to kill my self. I said no

no. I never said any such thing. The volunteer came back in and called me a

liar.

My wife was in the room this whole time and also said that is not what I said.

This now is about 20 minutes into my ER visit. I still have not recieved any

pain relief or even seen a doctor. We (my wife and I and our 4 year old grand

daughter) sat in the ER for 8 hours with no treatment. They made me sign the

papers or the would have a judge commit me.

I signed the papers thinking that this night mare would end.

I was told that thy found a room for me in the next county and would be taking

me there. They would not let my wife go or even fallow them.

When I got there they put me on suicide watch. This is now 2 am about 14 hours

after it all started in the ER.

At about 8 am I woke in sever pain again and with a 105 deg temp.

A few minutes later I started having a seizure.

They now relized that I was sick and not trying to kill myself.

I spent the next 5 days in the hospital with sepsis that almost killed me.
