Botox for Neck Pain

I have been having severe neck pain for years, that is what got me started

having to take pain medication.

I had previously tried massage, ultrasound, accupuncture, trigger point

injections (with and without steroids), superficial creams (RX and Non-RX), and

nothing was working.

When I saw my doctor yesterday he suggested Botox. He said that the Botox would

cause the nerve to break off of the muscle, and then it would be forced to

repair itself, and in the meantime, the muscle would be relaxed because of the

botox. What he said made sense.

I allowed him to give me a shot of the Botox into my trapezius muscle right at

bottom right base of the back of my neck. The doctor said it would take 2 weeks

for me to notice or feel anything from the Botox, and then whatever the result

of the shot, I would feel that result for 3-9 months while the Botox is still

active.

I was afraid because what if I didn't like what the Botox did? Then, I would be

stuck with the result for months. But, having tried everything else, I opted

for trying one more thing, in hopes that I might no longer be muddled with

opiates day in and day out.

Has anyone else tried the Botox? If so, how did it work for you.

If not, do you know anyone else who has tried it? Did it work for them?

Thank you,

Jade
