So it may not just be the actual pain alone, but in concert with actual neuronal activity which leads to poor sleep from the central nervouse system. I am glad to provide the source of the research if anyone is interested. Enid Enid, My pain specialist told me the first day that he saw me that I had no serotonin left. I had burned it all up because of my pain level. In his exact words, " You are truly suffering because of your pain and it is affecting you globally. " I have been on multiple medications since then to sleep and still wish that I could sleep enough to regulate my own pattern. He doubts that it will ever happen. Thank you for sharing the information. Lori
