Hi,

My name is , but everyone calls me Gypsie. I'm 27 years old and have been

living with RSD for almost 5 years now. I was told I developed RSD after a

repeat injury (wrist hyperextension/sprain) caused my hand to contort and swell,

become mottled in color, hypersensitive to temperature/pressure changes,

hypersensitive to touch even to the point of air/breathing on my skin, and

excruciating pain of many types coursing through my arm.

It has now spread to encompass my entire right arm, up through the neck to the

jaw and my right leg from just above the knee down to my toes, which are curled

into contortion like my fingers are.

I am a single mother of a special needs child, who is almost 5, and is diagnosed

with a plethora of mental/physical disorders. It is because of my son that I

have declined most treatments, as I fear being left incapacitated and incapable

of caring for my son.

Currently, I've had 2 ganglion nerve blocks put in. The last one wore off about

3 years ago, and more trips than I can count to the ER for shots of Demerol and

muscle relaxers. I have an appointment, my first in 3 years, back with my pain

management specialist next week.

I've put myself off to the side to devote my energy to caring for my son -

leaving me in a state where I can barely take care of basic necessities. I'm

limping on a foot that's swollen 2x over. It's toes are curled under and I'm

worried they will break with each step I take.

I have limited use of my right hand and arm and cannot tolerate the touch of my

child who craves tactile input. While I've dealt with depression and anxiety my

whole life, it's spiraling out of control with the progression of my RSD and the

deterioration of the condition of my precious son.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you, uplifting and caring through tough

times, celebrating and embracing good times. I'm in San , Tx if anyone

is located near!!
