Guest guest
I've been on here for a few months now and have gotten so much out of it. This is a really great group. Since January I've had non-stop chronic pain from my back (L-4 and L-5 disc bulge and tear). I had such a terrible time finding the right medication to help control my pain if you remember, because of my problems with histamine reactions and serious breathing problems and so on. When I was visiting my in-laws in Virginia (I'm in Florida) my mother-in-law suggested I retry the Percocet, only eat something before I took it. I found out I could take it with no problems and it really is helping my pain. Only problem is that it wears off at 4-1/2 hours exactly and I have to wait 5 hours so I can take 2 10 mg tablets 3 times a day. I also wake up in pain every morning. The doctor doesn't want to put me on Oxycontin for some reason. But he has been difficult and actually mean to me thinking I was trying to get high. I'm 58 years old and I've never gotten " euphoric " --his word-- with medication ever. But it's so much better than when i was taking the Vicodin, pain wise. I have one question for you guys out there. I had a terrible reaction to Morphine Sulfate a few months ago--ended up in the ER. My mother was very allergic to sulfate and I was wondering if that was what caused my problems or the morphine? I had a histamine reaction (moderate), orthostatic hypotension (when you stand up your blood pressure drops so much you almost faint and I couldn't stand up at all), breathing a bit shallow, pressure on my chest. Thanks for letting me share and ask another question. Cheryl Tiller
Guest guest
I have a genetic allergic reaction to sulfa drugs so it is written in my medical records not tp gove me any. You might have the same genetic predisposition. Congrats on finding a medication that works for you-and get yourself a new doctor! Guest guest
More than likely it was the sulfate.Sulfate is one of those meds like penicillin that a lot of people are allergic to.I have found that a lot of people who are in pain are also allergic to a lot of meds. It's really funny in a sick way. Blessed be, Ms.Katurah Pam ctiller@... < > I have one question for you guys out there. I had a terrible reaction to > Morphine Sulfate a few months ago--ended up in the ER.
