Hi

Welcome to the group. I find that taking a hot bath, or hot shower when I first

wake up helps start the day.

It seems backwards, but gentle exercise, like gentle stretching in the morning

after your hot bath. I have another neuropathy pain problem in addition to

Fibromyalgia, and I enjoy swimming in the local hot springs when I can afford

it. I cannot stand to be cold.

It is essential to try to get 8 hours of good sleep each night. Poor sleep is

primary cause of fibromyalgia pain.

If you have difficulty sleeping, have a sleep study done. Many people have sleep

apnea, or other problems that they didn't even realize that had.

I do not recommend that you take Ambien, nor any of the hypnotics to help you

sleep. They don't give you a true sleep and can have many dangerous side

affects.

Trazadone is a mild and inexpensive anti-depressant that can help with sleep. It

doesn't do much for depression, but will help you sleep.

I also take ibuprofen, other NSAIDS can be helpful, but as you know not at the

same time. <smile> I take it on a regular schedule, but I have to be careful

that it doesn't upset my stomach.

I take Lyrica, for neuropathy pain problem, which some people take for

Fibromyalgia. It is expensive, and can affect your concentration, and other

problems.

There are several other anti-seizure medications than can help. I used to take

Neurontin, but it gave me vertigo, poor concentration, and hot flashes.

Hopefully, these will help you. There should be a few members who can recommend

useful books you can read about Fibromyalgia too.
