My doctor prescribed me the 12-hour extended release form of pseudoephedrine. It

is the OTC product, just with a prescription. Doctors can prescribe any OTC

medication, including any pseudoephedrine product. You could always try asking

another doctor. Have you explained to your doctor why you need it and that you

want a prescription for the OTC product so you can get it without that extra

hassle. Avoiding extra hassles definitely helps those of us with chronic pain.
