Guest guest
yes that is so true Helen, the lortabs were a pacifier until we got fed up. I can understand, the doctor though, if she took them away, he ended up in hosp. but if she gave them to him he had to keep increasing dosages, and fast! Point was, duh,, figure out prob and help solve or deal with it! so thats what we did. Those 500s were killing him by masking the problem. Thank goodness the ultram can help some. Now,,if we could only find some miracle dump pump wed be in business~!!!!

His doctor at Shands told us first what the diagnosis was and then did test to prove himself to us. He also diagnosed jerry with the gastroparesis. Now.. im reading all these tests and surgical procedures, wondering should we be asking for these tests? jerry had an endocopy, upper and lower before gallbladder surgery.. both non-remarkable.. that is the only thing hes had done.. just some endoscopies.. he just had another this last hosp stay, when he was transfered from one hosp to the other. He is so miserable, my gf is a medic and swears he needs an exploratory.. says he looks like death warmed over. even with the weight gain hes putting back on. im reading how no one would have had surgeries had they a second chance.. but this is getting frustrating.. im reading about abdominal tumors. and such.. also how some folks with panc cancer were getting blood tests for cancer markers and they never showed up on them even though they do have cancer..and now doc at shands says dont come back unless he becomes diabetic, has extreme weight loss with pain, or something else i forget right now.. have had a hard day.. anyhow so we havent had testing done now since december.. and that was only blood work.. he also has had scans done as well.. and im reading that unless cysts are full of fluid they dont show up.. and then they dont show up well?? im at a loss.. cant believe people have to live in such misery.. hell we put animals down for much less..(not me personally-general pop.) i guess im having a poor me and mine day.. 8o( well just curious.. should i let things lie as they are currently until something majorly different happens.. or seek extra consultations.. reading about Dr. Cotton , im thinking road trip!!! guess i'll go get some coffee and find a good harlequin to read! lol might as well read about it! Guest guest
Celeste,The things you and Jerry are going thru are terrible. When I suggested the Pain pump I meant to say I thought it might help Jerry because as the medicine is released it goes from the pump [which is implanted.].The medine travels directly to the nerve endings in the spine so you take less medicine and get faster release. It bypasses everything and thats why I thought it might work. Guest guest
Thank you Debbie!!!! You definitely know where I am coming from!!!! My supposed best friend never even picked up the phone to call me, even after she told my mother she was going to. When I finally had enough strength once I returned home to call her, I told her how I felt. Her response was, " So, you are going to chastize me for not visiting you? " I said, " I wasn't expecting a visit, just a phone call would have been nice. " She said, " Well, I am so sorry. " She wasn't sorry, it was a very sarcastic apology! Oh well....thank you again Debbie. Robin > robin, don't worry about " venting " everybody HAS to have some kind of outlet > or we would all go crazy. it's hot here too with high humidity (walk outside > > and get wet)! ha. i have a sister that lives about 5 minutes away that > never > calls and checks on me, visits or sees me in the hospital - so i know how > family can be. my mom is out visiting in calif. right now and one of my > cousins sent email that she was worried about me. i talk to relatives out > there that i have never even met more than my close relatives. go figure. > hang in there. hope you'll have a much better day tomorrow. Hi Celeste. I've been on many a road trip myself when things didn't go well locally. I went from a suburb of Ft Lauderdale, to Miami, to Boston, to New York. End result:no improvement in condition but satisfaction that I had explored all reasonable possibilities. Does Jerry have an anatomical abnormality or genetic or doesn't anyone know? You might try calling or emailing Dr Cotton or his secretary & see if they think they could help. You may also feel " We aren't getting anywhere with the help around here, let's give it another try " . I think if I were to go anywhere in the country, to see anyone, it would be to Dr Cotton. (I saw Dr Jerome Siegal in New York who was very good, but impossible to reach after leaving him). Let us know what you & Jerry decide. Who knows, maybe I'll join the road trip & make the pilgrimage to dr cotton also. jang --== Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ ==-- Before you buy.
