Guest guest
Hello, I am new to this group, however, I have been in contact with for several months.I have read all the archived messages and have found them informative. I am scheduled for surgery on both hips at UCLA in January. I was told recently that metal on metal hip may not be available due to the FDA allotment having been met. The same hip with a stronger poly liner may be an option. I read that the larger ball with a poly liner had posed a problem in the past. I am attempting to pursue one of the other locations performing the metal on metal if I can find one within my insurance group. Some days I consider having the old procedure done bv my local Dr. is the metal on metal definately worth the wait, inconvenience, and expense? I am married, 43 yers old, with two young children very active in sports.Formerly very active myself before the hip problems. I tried to post this message already so there may be two that are similar. Thanks Tim
