Guest guest
Hi Joyce & Peggy! My little adventures started in 1999 when I look at my neck and said " is one side bigger than the other??? " Of course it was. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease, which is the other thyroid disease, and also papillary thyroid cancer. It was removed completely April 16, 1999. I waited until the tax season was finished. I had 3 I-131 radiation treatments over a span of 4 years. It was the first of my 4 autoimmune dx. OH - just for additional fun, this week I had to see an oral surgeon. I had the equivalent of a bone spur growing in my gum and it had developed an open hole down to the bone. Since it didn't hurt, the oral surgeon just fished out the spur through the hold. It sounds nasty but really was not. I mean how many people provide their own hole in their mouth so he didn't have to cut the gum? Thankfully the hole is beginning to close now. He was concerned because as I said, it was open to the bone and he seemed to think that was unnatural or something. I don't worry too much about little stuff like that. I have NSIP w/PF and not IPF but you could definitely be on to something. I see my pulmonologist again in a couple of weeks. My disease is active again. I can feel it like sponges rolling around in there. He had said he was going to think about cytoxan so I guess we'll see. I tried to wean off the Prednisone but that failed fabulously. Since I have somewhat of a sense of humor about the whole thing tonight, I will tell you about stabbing myself in the foot. Only ME! I dropping a paring knife off a kitchen counter and it stuck straight up in the top of my foot just below my pinkie toe. Stuck straight up in the floor. I reached down and pulled it out, laid it in the sink, and then proceeded to split the toe of my white panty hose so I would not get blood on my new white hose. Ruined is ruined but there was no blood on them! White hose, white shoes, white slacks. I was very cute that day. I didn't even get stitches in it but now when I got that same foot stuck on carpet tacking nails I did. Whole other story. Can't make this stuff up. Pleasant Sunday to all tomorrow! S, Lubbock, TX NSIP w/PF 2006, Celiac, type 2 diab Go ahead, it's funny, horribly funny but funny. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > My new pulmonologist told me to begin taking NAC orally.
