Guest guest
hi everyone; i know those of you that remember me must think i dropped off the face of the earth... but i just wanted to sort of check in and stuff... i went back to school in september-- majoring in biotechnology. eventually i want to become a research scientist... i'm doing ok so far (gpa is 3.43 -- striving for that 4.0 LOL). big *hugs* to everyone, especially the DelVal group-- i'm sorry i haven't been to meetings in so long-- i really miss everyone, and have been thinking about you guys a lot... between school, working, and being sick all the time, i haven't been able to attend meetings for a while-- but i'm always thinking about you... i've been having a lot of medical problems for the past year or so-- nothing really serious-- mainly recurrent respiratory infections and ear infections... although it's strange-- i've never had a problem with them before, but now i seem to get them every couple months or so... the respiratory infections are really hard to get rid of-- i'll have it for about a month before it finally goes away completely, and then i just get another one a few weeks later. the ear infections are really messing me up though-- i get them a lot now, and they've damaged my eardrums... i'm starting to lose my hearing from them... for some reason i don't feel any pain in my ears until they are so bad blood is coming out of them... sorry to go on about it, guess i am just worried-- mito is always the first thing i think of when things seem to go wrong now. although i know i'm probably just being paranoid... i know my dr thinks so... i should be getting insurance in the next 2 months or so, so i'll finally be able to get a chest x ray and see an ENT, and have some bloodwork done also, i need to get my wisdom teeth out-- they're impacted, and keep getting infected too--- eeeeew, i feel like one huge infection LOL it's just kind of annoying though-- i missed so much school due to illness, and ended up having to drop 2 classes last semester because i was failing from poor attendance... ok, i'm done complaining now anyway, i hope everyone is doing ok... i keep all of you in my prayers. i feel so out-of-touch with everything now, since i've been away for so long-- and i miss you guys... Guest guest
, Wow you have been busy girl! Hang in there, we need good research scientists. I hear you on the ear infections I have one in my left ear non stop. They cannot seem to get it cleared up. I have had it for 21/2 years now. I don't have the pain either just pressure, feels like I need to pop my ear all the time. It leaks fluid all the time as well. Well, a big hug to you and keep going you can do it. Hugs O Mito Mommy smiling with tear filled eyes, holding on to Gods hand tightly, knowing He holds us in the palm of His hands and won't let go! Guest guest
Hi, - Sorry for the late reply. Your notes on respiratory and ear infections knocked me out of my chair. Last year, I was going thru EXACTLY the same weird stuff. Haven't had ear aches since I was about five years old, then suddenly started getting them every couple of months. Fortunately, one of my mito-helpful neighbors is an ENT. I was griping about the ear aches one afternoon to him and he suggested I swing by the office the next day so he could take a look. I didn't know "look" meant running a hose with a camera on it up my snoot - felt like a roto-rooter snake - but it didn't really hurt much since he sprayed some sort of anesethetic first. Anyway, to the scope indicated a tumor in my nasal cavaties, which was blocking natural drainage, which was causing sinus and ear path fluid retention, which caused infection, which caused ear aches, which ruptured my ear drums and otherwise irritated me to no end. The word "tumor" scared me, but my friend indicated this was a quite normal activity for all people but sometimes the tumors grow quickly and cause this sort of problem. He put me under the next day, cut out the tumor (oral entry....the pictures were cool), took out my adenoids (sp) while he was there, and I was back at work the next day. Haven't had even a sniffle since! Anyway, thought this might be helpful. Good luck to you...........ESPECIALLY IN SCHOOL! YOU GO GIRL!
