Guest guest
I need a little help on a project on which I am working. Is anybody using the pharyngeo-tracheo lumen (PtL airway)? Is it even being manufactured anymore? I had heard rumors that it was not--but have been unable to confirm. Any assistance would be appreciated. BEB E. Guest guest
Dr. Bledsoe, I went to a SLAM conference and I believe the instructor said that the PtL was no longer being manufactured. I will try to find out for sure. Neil White
Guest guest
I heard that too--but there are several web sites that list its availability. Trying to determine whether to continue to have it in the new Intermediate text. BEB E. Guest guest
Little off track but are you going to include the LMA in your text? Guest guest
Absolutely. I just today updated the material for the Intermediate. I can email that chapter (in very rough draft) if you are so interested. I am trying to get some art from the manufacturer. BEB E. Guest guest
My son just completed the emt I class and passed using your text. he has the emt I and the paramedic complete book and lets just say he almost made a perfect score minus a point using you text. Are there any major changes in the new book. ( emt-I ). Guest guest
The EMT-I book is a small white book (Intermediate Emergency Care-Second Edition). It does not sell a lot of copies in this country as most programs use the Essentials of Paramedic Care or 5 volume series. It is an older book based on the older DOT Intermediate curriculum. We are updating it for the DOT Intermediate and the changes will be substantial. As far as the paramedic products, we will probably begin revision on the 5 volume series in 2004 with a new edition in 2005. At present, changes will not be substantial-but who knows what will happen by next year. There will be expanded information about the LMA and capnography. Pharm will be updated. All mention of CISM will be removed, and similar science-based considerations. What question did your son miss?
