Guest guest
Hey ! I too am interested in going to the ASBS gig. I am looking for a female to share a room with ($135 per night is mighty steep!). I would like to go to the Health seminars ( I am mostly interested in the lectures on exercise and diet for post-ops since I am on a mission to discover what all I can do and help others do to achieve optimal physical condition post-op) and the opening night mixer and Friday night dance...but would have to forgo the $200 Thursday night benefit banquet...I sure wouldn't eat enough food to make THAT worthwhile...LOL! I would probably leave Saturday AM since I am not interested in the casino trip and not interested in paying for a hotel again Sat. nite. How about it ladies...any one else planning on going and would like a roomie? I sure would like to go and meet some of you! Let me know! Betty D. Guest guest
Betty- The $200 banquet is now a $150 something else. I wish they'd let about 6 of us go in for that! Like we'd make a dent in a banquet sized prime rib or something. PULEEZE. I want to attend most of the sessions, but there's one that looks like it'd put me right to sleep! And I want to talk about post-op nutrition, so there we are. Wish they'd consulted US on this, huh? Yeah. Want me to find the thing on exercise in here? Or did you get this yet? I'm sharing my room with Don. But if I can lull him to sleep early, can I come down and join the slumber party in your room?? Thanks, www.vitalady.com Re: ASBS > From: valadybnkr@... > > Hey ! > I too am interested in going to the ASBS gig. I am looking for a female to > share a room with ($135 per night is mighty steep!). Guest guest
is there a web site about this conference for us non-attendees? ... it would be cool to follow along if possible. I have the entire agenda. There are 3 really interesting sessions on exercise. Did you also see the one on changing human sexuality after WLS? Sounds really intriguing...good heavens I didn't know anyone had actually studied this! LOL! I want to attend most of the seminars too. There will be a few I skip though. > > I'm sharing my room with Don. But if I can lull him to sleep early, can I > come down and join the slumber party in your room?? Absolutely! As long as I can find someone to share the expense. $135 is way too much to pay for a hotel room for 4 nights! Especially since I can't deduct it as a business expense. I'll let you know if I decide to go! Betty D.

Guest guest
I thought the ASBS meetings alternated east coast/west coast? Does that mean to an easterner, Memphis is considered WEST? Or is there another meeting out this-a-way? Guest guest
I'm going to attempt Severe Seriousity here, and try not to make it PORN by accident. Wish somebody had taught me to type! On the ASBS conference. I realize that hearing me ranting and raving about all this might get everyone thinking that we are all going to wear our " RAH WLS! " T-shirts and be eating sugar free protein cotton candy and going to the fair! I get SO excited that I often blab before thinking. (I'm sure this is a BIG surprise) I'm thinking that maybe I might've made the thing sound like way more fun than it will be. It IS an educational thing to the docs. Some of them are only going because they need the credits, some will be interested in this " new field " and so on. But it really isn't designed for Patient Entertainment, as much as we'd like to think that it is. So, before anyone sells the family heirlooms to go, I do want to say that it might not be all fun and games and in fact, the only FUN to be had might be the Grad Gathering. I just don't want my rampant enthusiasm to bowl anyone over, right? It's kind of a spendy little weekend getaway just for a few laughs. Some of the seminars will be dry as dirt and not at all interesting except to the one person who had that particular procedure or complication. How many of you are interested in the " Leaks " one? Also, since I'd be going as an Exhibitor, my booth fee includes some admissions to SOME of the events. So, just in case anyone is mislead to think that one ticket buys the whole shebang, nope. I'm still a little confused about each event and what I want to attend and when I need to be in my booth, etc. But just so everyone knows that if you DO go, you need to pay your money and pick your events carefully. So, how'd I do as a wet blanket, anyway? It was pointed out to me (very lovingly) that my total teenage crush on the whole topic MIGHT lead people into thinking that there was more fun to be had than there might really be. So, as long as everyone knows that it is Serious and kind of expensive (at least for me), then we can all make our plans with eyes wide open!
