Guest guest
Hello, My son Ronan's lactate and pyruvate have always been normal. His carnitine was abnormal once (just the ratio) and has been normal on two other occations. He was diagnosed by muscle biopsy with complex IV defeciency. Have you had urine and plasma amino acids and organic acids done? Allthough Ronan's were not conclusive they would often have some results high and often they would change each time he had the test done. It wasn't conclusive but it sure made me suspicious. It was what made me ask for a muscle biopsy. Take Care,
