Guest guest
Hi Tammy, I was 37 when it was discovered that I have a Day 2 FSH of 9.3 with low estradiol. I was also told to try injectables with IUI’s. We tried once or twice and then we went to IVF. Lucky for me because it turned out that I had very low egg quality. I produced lots of eggs and I still do, but most are not viable. The protocol I used when I was younger was a bit different then I use now. But for IUI, you usually start with Gonal-f or Follostim at 2-3 ampules per day for 6 to 8 days depending on your response. The starting dose is also dependent on your FSH level. They will try to grow 3 or 4 follicles and inject with HCG and then do the IUI. How old are you (if you don’t mind me asking) and what was your estradiol level at Day 3? What was your FSH? These values will become important when determining your starting point etc. How many pregnancies have you had and when? Tammy, you have fought the big fight and won. Ashermans was way harder to deal with for me then the fertility stuff. Even though the news was not so good, you have lots of good things to look forward to and lots of tools to help get you pregnant. So, keep that in mind as you go forward. Good luck. good and bad update The good: My Re and I both surmised that my scar tissue had reformed (based on a diminished AF and an apparent blockage on a SHG test,) but I am happy to say that after a new HSG w/Dr. Valle last week, it has not. Yea! Yea! The bad: A day 3 blood test has shown that for my age, I have an elevated FSH level. (A sign of early menopause, poor egg quality, etc.) So, the next stage of my journey begins. I'm excited to finally be moving to the next step, but discouraged that my issue is no longer " just " a thin lining. I'm starting IUI w/injectibles next month (Gonal-F or Follitisum) which should improve my lining, but I'm still researching the whole FSH issue. or anyone, what did you take to improve your egg quality?
