Guest guest
Hi Heidi, I was just diagnosed with RA last week. I first started wearing MBT's after a bunionectomy as the pressure when walking goes on the arch of the foot and not the joints in the toes. They are great! Give them a try. Guest guest
Hi Heidi: I don't know anything about these brands. My foot dr. told me to buy running shoes for the best support and comfort. Before, I bought cross trainers. I have been buying the best running shoe Rebok makes. I go to the outlet, and I bought 3 pairs for $99.00. These are normally $75.00 a pair. I get flyers in the mail when they are having a big sale. I also bought 2 pairs of inserts for my shoes from the foot dr. My feet were hit the worst with R.A. They cost $35.00 a pair and I just love them. I have one set of inserts that I wear every day, and the other set is for when my feet are hurting very badly. They truly make my feet feel better. I highly recommend them. I had tried on New Balance, Nike, Sauconey, and some other brand the dr. recommended. The Rebok's felt the best for me. I hope you find a brand that helps your feet feel better. I don't wear any other type of shoe on my feet, just these running shoes. I am too afraid of falling, as my feet cause me to be unstable. I had to give up my sandals also. Good luck in your search. Guest guest
Hi Jane: Welcome to our wonderful support group. I am so sorry you have RA. I have had it 6 years, and it is a tough auto-immune disease to deal with. I wish you many pain free days ahead. Just remember, we are all here for you. Everyone here are so kind, compassionate, and full of information. It was my best day when I found this support group. They are the best. Remember to rest when you can. I rest or nap each afternoon. My Rheumy insisted on this as I get so very tired. I just take one day at a time, as that is all I can handle. I have also learned to pace myself, which was very hard for me to do. Take good care of yourself, and I hope you have a wonderful Rheumy. We all deserve to have a great Rheumy. Hugs, Barbara > > > Hi Heidi, > > I was just diagnosed with RA last week. Guest guest
Oh my gosh, I am so stoked to talk about shoes! I walked into a Olympia sports store the other day.....I was wearing Nike Pegasus shoes I paid $100 for 3 months ago that I thought were the best I could get for RA. They were running a sale on all shoes....so I told them I have RA and was wondering what the MOST comfortable shoe they had was.......A very knowledgable gal said " sit right there " and came back with a shoe that wasn't even on display! She came back with New Balance All Terrain 479's....took out the insole and inserted " sofsole athlete " inserts..I WAS IN HEAVAN! She then told me she also has RA! Best news, they were $44.99! TRY THEM! I LOVE THESE SHOES! Yes, my feet still hurt, but MUCH better! Guest guest
I'm with you on the New Balance shoes. I use Tulli heel cups in them, the kind for heavier people, since I have plantar fascitis. (sp?) I can't remember which model i have, they're your basic pink and white trainers, but man they are heaven on your feet. I caught mine on sale for 40-something bucks too. > > > > HI, > > I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE ON HERE HAS BOUGHT THESE SHOES.I SAW THEY HELP WITH HELPING AND SUPPORTING YOUR JOINTS.THEY ARE AWFULLY PRICEY AND HARD TO FIND THE RIGHT SIZE, BUT IF THEY WILL MAKE MY FEET FEEL BETTER, I'LL DO IT.ANY INPUT WOULD BE APPRECIATED.HAVE A PAINFREE HOLIDAY, > > HEIDI IN PA > > >
