I was found disabled in July 2007 and started receiving payments in January

2008. I know there is a 24 month waiting period for Medicare, but will that be

in July when I was found disabled, of January when I started receiving payments?

I was found disabled in 7/06 and started receiving payments 1/07 and I was

eligable for Medicare 1/09. So you should be eligable for Medicare 1/10. Just

have to get through this year.

This is incorrect. It is 24 months from the date you are found disabled so in

this case, she will be eligible July 2009.

I filed for disability 05/02. My DOD was found to be 10/97 (Yeah... I know..

Nothing like waiting to file! LOL) I was approved disability in 09/02 and my

Medicare was effective immediately because I had already met the 24 month

requirement......

I think a call to your local SS office might offer more clarity, !
