Guest guest
For those of you that are taking the 'plunge', congrats, I hope it works for you. It's so nice for me to get up in the morning and take in a big breath without immediately coughing my head off. That's what I did for the whole time I smoked. Betty quit on Dec 23, 1988, and I quit in March of 1989, using Nicorette gum. The bad part of that is you're not supposed to chew it, only enough to expose 'new' gum to set in the cheek or under the tongue. I'd forget while working and start chewing like it was only gum, and overload myself with nicotine with terrible indigestion! After 2 months, I quit that too and have been since then. It's well worth the effort! Guest guest
Clora, You are too sweet and making me blush! One thing that I didn't do is tell my granddaughter. I want to surprise her. She hates it terribly and was so happy when I bought my last car (slightly used, can't afford new) and implemented the rule No Smoking in it. She hates that it gets in her hair and clothes. I have done her a great injustice, even though she can be a big brat at times! Shirley > > Shirley and group; > > Shirley thats about the nicest thing you can say to me. Guest guest
Dennis, I am so proud of everyone who kicked the nicotine addiction. You are proof that we can do it. I know how difficult it was, since this will be my third attempt. Shirley > > For those of you that are taking the 'plunge', congrats, I hope it works for > you. Guest guest
Clora, when my office was rearranged and my Technical supervisor moved in with me, I told him he could smoke all he wanted, but he couldn't exhale. He got the message. lol Dennis in eastexas On Sat, Nov 8, 2008 at 10:58 AM, nana2livi <s.p5315@...> wrote: > Clora, > You are too sweet and making me blush! Guest guest
Thanks, Shirley. I did have extra support from my bride. We even had to take out the wood heater and put in propane. After her bout of pneumonia that caused her to quit so suddenly, she couldn't stand any obnoxious smells. It did change our lives for the better. Guest guest
Clora, make sure you use crushed ice, and just let it melt in your mouth instead of chewing it. You don't want to break a tooth. Sue On Saturday, November 8, 2008, at 01:45 PM, CLORA wrote: > Everyone > > I am so glad everyone is sending ideas we will sure need them .. Guest guest
Shirley and group; You're telling me, I hear it from everyone too. Oh what a surprise it will be for her. Sometimes we tend to spoil our grandkids. That is so sweet for you to do that for her. I hope they do the same for me when I quit. IN fact I am going to request no one smoke around mw while I am quitting because it will be to much temptation for me lol. gentle hugs Clora *********************************************************** > > Clora, > You are too sweet and making me blush! Guest guest
Dennis and group; Dennis I don't blame you. I guit for 3 years and never realized how bad we smelled. How every room we smoked in smelled like a dirty ash tray. I try to tell my hubby but he didnt understand. He did respect me and not smoke around me. Maybe he will quit this time too. gentle hugs Clora ************************************************** > Clora, when my office was rearranged and my Technical supervisor moved in > with me, I told him he could smoke all he wanted, but he couldn't exhale. Guest guest
When I quit smoking, I didn't say anything to anybody; I just let them figure it out. I was amazed to see how long it took them to see that I was no longer smoking, even my husband, who lives here in the house with me, LOL. When I went to my mother's for the first time after quitting, I didn't tell her, either. She went all day and hadn't noticed it. Then when my husband came back from wherever, he said, " What do you think about Sue quitting smoking? " I could have whacked him, because I was going to see just how long it took her to notice. Guest guest
Sue and group;. Sue sometimes when we are under stress we tend to not see the things going on around us. We can be stressed and not share it with others. Don't feel bad cause she didnt notice. I didnt mention my birthday one year. Usually they have surprise parties for me. I waited all day told only my boyfriend. Finally at the end of the day I went over mom and dads and said where is the surprise party. They said (lol) " What surprise party. " I hollerd my surprise party lol. They said " yours " MY BIRTHDAY PARY. They looked at each other and and told me how sorry they was for forgetting. I was beside my self with hurt. I am ok now lol. But I learned a big lesson. I am sure your mom was busy with much thought on something very important. Oh they would know I wasnt smoking cause Its the first thing they tell me everytime they see me. But I Have only told my mom and daughter I wont say any thing else about it. Don't worry I wont be upset if they don't notices. I am sure you wasnt upset if your mom didnt notice also. gentle hugs Clora PS I finsished up all my posts that I was behind on and did the ones that were new. I rock. ************************************************************** > > When I quit smoking, I didn't say anything to anybody; I just let them > figure it out.
