Guest guest
I would tell your doc about the fall because any added inflammation in your body can show on your bloodtests. Maybe he can come up with an appropriate time to retest you and see if the inflammation has come down rather than rush to change meds. Good luck and keep us posted. --- In , " layna1491 " <spikeandmaddie@...> wrote: > > Hello everyone, > > I've been summonsed by my doctor this morning as he's unhappy with my > blood test results. Guest guest
Hi Elaine: I can't help you with the blood work results. I just wanted to say I hope you feel alright after your fall. You must feel pretty banged up. Please take care of yourself, and I hope you make out alright at your dr. visit. God Bless you. Guest guest
Elaine and group; Sorry to hear you fell. I hope your OK. Sometimes it's weeks before we really know how bad our fall was. I know how blood results is so aggravating. Mine was showing an infection one time and my rheumy wouldn't give me my meds till she got a letter from my primary doctor. I didn't even know I had an infection. Turns out I had a bladder infection. I took some antibiotics and got my scripts from my rheumy. I hope everything gets better. Take care and God bless. gentle hugs Clora ******************************************* From: layna1491 <spikeandmaddie@...> Subject: [ ] Advice on blood test results, please! Date: Wednesday, November 12, 2008, 7:18 AM Hello everyone, I've been summonsed by my doctor this morning as he's unhappy with my blood test results. I've been having these done monthly for about a year now since I've been taking MTX. Basically, I am back to square one! Haemoglobin level is back to 9.9 (was over 11 last time), ESR is 55 (was in the twenties) and CRP is 28 (can't remember previous but was much lower). These are about the worst results I've had! I had a very bad fall 2 days before tests were done (down a staircase)- is it possible that this could have affected the results to this extent? Thanks for any input, Hugs from Elaine
Guest guest
Hi Thanks very much for your advice! I've mentioned the fall to my doctor and he doesn't seem sure if it would have affected the results like this - this is my GP, won't be seeing a rheumy till next month, so it's not really his area of expertise. He wants me to go back in again next week to see how things are. Having thought about it, I was in quite a bad car crash a few years ago (although I wasn't too badly injured) and I had an awful flare up after that - I'm wondering if it's the stress / shock of the fall that's sending me into a flare. I will be getting another set of tests done in 3 weeks so hopefully they may show some improvement. Take care, Elaine [ ] Re: Advice on blood test results, please! Guest guest
Hi Barbara Thanks so much for thinking of me; I'm still pretty sore with some amazing bruises - but I managed to get back to the gym today after a week's absence and do a bit of exercise. It was at the gym that I fell; I was changed into my (bright pink) swimming costume going down the stairs to the pool. Although I've lost weight, I'm still on the cuddly side - so imagine someone looking like a huge pink prawn bouncing on her rear end all the way down the stairs Hope this vision makes you smile! Guest guest
Hi Elaine. Gee, I'm glad you felt good enough to go back to your gym. Your discription of your " pink prawn falling " did make me smile. But I love pink, so I am sure your bathing suit is beautiful!!! Continue to feel better each day, and wishing you pain free days ahead.
