Guest guest
Friday, school was out. Most of the kids in the neighborhood were old enough to be 'home alone', but not in case of an emergency. So, I had eight kids plus my own in my house and was contacting parents to let them know where they were. Later, most of the parents were at my house too watching the weather!! I guess none of us wanted to be alone. Smyrna was not hit, but less than ten miles up the road in Mufreesboro the neighborhood was flattened. We had a volunteer National Guard and off duty EMT at my house who got a call and lit out of here pronto!! The sad thing is a mother and her 9 week old infant were killed in this neighborhood in Mufreesboro. It was a very scary noon time period. Yesterday, we finally drove by the area. It was unreal. Where there was a stylish " Italian flair " neighborhood across the street from our favorite mall, there is nothing. No trees. No houses. No cars. Just lots of 'trash'. The weather has been extreme already this year. This is the fifth tornado strike in the area in the last two weeks! I am organizing a massage-athon to help victims of the Mufreesboro tornado. These folks lost everything. Please keep them in your prayers. That's my report from TN. Guest guest
Hi : What a terrible disaster. Such a shame about the woman and her baby. That happened here just like that when Hurricane Charlie hit here in 2004. We were in our new home 10 days when it hit. Very scarey to say the least. We had to evacuate to the high school. We were there 9 hours, and they finally let us go home at 9 p.m. Our area was hit so hard. I am glad you and your family are safe and sound. I hate the hurricane season too. Once you have seen major destruction, you do become so fearful. May you all be safe always. Hugs, Barbara --- In , " ldydewinter " <ldydewinter@...> wrote: > > Friday, school was out. Guest guest
, That's a very dramatic story. I'm happy to hear that you are OK. That's wonderful of you to volunteer as you have. I hope you will avoid a flare. Not an MD On Sun, Apr 12, 2009 at 8:39 AM, ldydewinter <ldydewinter@...> wrote: > > > Friday, school was out. Guest guest
, I live close to lin, Tn. which is about 2 hrs away from Crossville. If you are interested in driving that distance I would be glad to give you the name of my rheumy. I love the area you are talking about. We spend as much time as we can (winter &  summer) on Dale Hollow Lake which is on a short distance from Crossville. Since several of us are in the area maybe we need to connect up sometime this summer and met in person. From: deebs87 <dlohfsbcglobal (DOT) net> Subject: [ ] Re: OT Update from TN @gro ups.com Date: Tuesday, April 14, 2009, 6:36 PM Hi G, Glad you area didn't get hit with the tornado. Guest guest
I live in Texas . My father's family was in Crossville. When I was much younger, we visited them, and my great uncle took us to Lake Tansi for boat rides. My dad now is in a Crossville Nursing facility. Later I will try and call my mom and ask what doctors she sees. Guest guest
Just starting to catch up with messages and realized you are just down the road from me- I live in Antioch! I work with the TN state troopers and we had a bunch of them at the center of the zone for the whole week. It was quite sad!
