Guest guest
Joyce Is this the oxymizer you're referring to? http://www.chadtherapeutics.com/O224.htm If they work as you say, I see another potential use too which is being shown on a site selling them. That use is to conserve oxygen on portable units like a Companion 1000. Now, like a rebreather, you're rebreathing your own oxygen. What are the negatives? Any increased risk of infection or bacteria building that you're aware of? > >> >> > Everyone watch out for me. I am so awful today. Nothing can make it> > past the middle of my stomach. Guest guest
For anyone looking to try the oxymizer and assuming your oxygen supplier doesn't have it, here are the cheapest sources I've found online (it isn't cheap). https://www.pulmolab.com/respiratory/oxy_conservers/oxymizers.html $19.49 with free shipping. I have not used this company. http://www.tri-medinc.com/TM/page5.html#19150 $19.95 plus shipping. I have used this company and gotten good service. > > >> > >> > > Everyone watch out for me. Guest guest
, I would love to have your oxymizer. My supplier has never heard of them. I am caught in an area of ignorance when it comes to pulmonary issues. My address is: 1404 Rosewood Circle Unit 36 Dalton, Georgia 30720 Thank you so much! Toodles! Guest guest
Bruce, Yes, the pendant is the one I use. It increases the flow by 2.5. So if you have your portable set on 3 you will be getting 5.5. This makes it last waaaaay longer. I always use it when I go out. It is a good way to save the nose at home, too. You can turn your flow down and use the oxymizer and it won't tear your nose up so badly. My problem with it is that the prongs are almost bigger than my nostrils. I think they do this so no 02 escapes. But after awhile that makes my nose sore too. I just looked....mine is the Chad p-224. They introduced these to me in rehab and just recently while I was in hosptal they brought them to me to use. Remember: You shouldn't take a shower in it nor use a humidifier bottle. Your doc can prescribe these for you. Hugs, Joyce D. Guest guest
Oxymizers Insurance pays for these things. Just ask the doc to call in a prescription and tell them to get it to you ASAP. They bring me 4-6 at a time. I have mine in right now. Hugs, Joyce D. Guest guest
Jane, Apria tried that stuff on me too. When they started using them on me in rehab, my doc called in a prescription. They said they didn't have them in stock and would have to order them. Rehab gave me 3 while I was waiting on Apria. Now, they keep them. Good grief! I would like to see inside thier warehouse. They never have anything in stock. It must be a small closet attatched to a trailer. Hugs, Joyce D. Guest guest
Always the beauty of this site that one never knows when they'll learn something new and of either present or future value from incredible people like you. > > > > > > > > > > > > Everyone watch out for me. Guest guest
Yes, largest oxygen supplier there is and they never have anything. Here its no reservoirs except 100 pounds, no cannulas except Salter basic, two travel concentrators for the entire region (our small provider has 4), never anything on their truck, run out of portable tanks so shortchange you, and the list goes on. I think they're operating out of one of the old old VW buses....remember those? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Everyone watch out for me. I am so awful today.
