Guest guest
No Kami, you can't inject if your taking antibiotics. You have to wait until you finish your antibiotics before you can inject. I feel your pain. I too have a sinus infection, my second in a month, and have to put off my injection as well. Guest guest
Thank you, Lori! Are you in PA? Are you enjoying this LOVELY (sarcasm) weather? I am above Reading and we had our first measurable snow yesterday. The coldness SUCKS. My rheumy's office never called me back..... :-( My family doc suggested that I call them first to see WHAT I can take.... *sigh* This weekend should be FUN. *~ Kami ~* Re: [ ] HELP! Guest guest
Hi ~Kami, Too bad you are getting a sinus infection like I have now. Hope your doctor gave you are good antibiotic for it. I take Biaxin and it leaves a nasty metal taste in my mouth. Hope you feel better soon. soft hugs, Debbie > > I am dealing with what I believe to be a sinus infection. Guest guest
Yes, I'm in Northeastern PA. It was in the 20's today. I live in the mountains and we have snow on the ground. I had to shovel the driveway the other day. I've already decided that I'm not going to live in PA for the rest of my life. It's just too hard on the joints. It's a shame that these cold temperatures came so early. I'm sorry to hear that the rheumatologist didn't call you back. That stinks! Does that mean that you aren't on anything yet? I've been on all kinds of antibiotics while on these medications. Since the Humira is stopped, it's not an issue. You just have to see what interacts with Methotrexate (if your on that). I'm currently on Z-Pak. I tried lowering my dosage of MTX and I kicked my body into a terrible flare that is going into it's 6th week. Not taking these drugs isn't going to help, LOL! The one real downside to these medications is that I get sick a lot more often and it's harder to get rid of what I get. I hope that you start feeling better soon! Maybe you can soak in a hot bath, or take a hot shower. It may help to alleviate some of the pressure in your head, especially the shower. Guest guest
Kami and group;  Kami it's very important you don't inject while on antibiotics. I hope you feel better soon. I use to get sinus infections a lot, so I know how you feel.  gentle hugs Clora  *******************************************  From: ~ Kami ~ <kamilleon@...> Subject: [ ] HELP! Guest guest
Kami, I am right there with you. No voice, sore throat, chills, aches and pains, aka flu bug I think. Lot of good the flu shot did me. That's what I get for living in polar country here in Iowa. I know I should start the amoxicillan however I also know how much I depend on my Humira.I need to be well and able to inject by Monday. Called both my Rheumy and my primary doc today but neither called back so........... will just have to see how things go. Thinking of you, Hope whatever is making you sick passes fast. Guest guest
I was thinking about holding off on the antibiotics myself, so that I could take the medication, but the rheumatologist told me that I had to get rid of the infection first. Needless to say, I was bummed. Lori http://home.comcast.net/~queenstitcher/ http://stitchingqueen.multiply.com Re: [ ] HELP! First illlness on Humira Kami, I am right there with you. Guest guest
Lori and Kami, Be careful. If you have an infection, using one of the anti-TNF biologics concurrently can cause the infection to become quite serious. I've heard and read enough sobering stories to know that you shouldn't chance it. Guest guest
Sorry to hear that you all are not feeling so well and facing sinus inections. I know how awful they can make you feel. Have you tried using a neti pot? You place warm water in them and use them to irrigate the sinus passages. My Pharmacist recommended it to me the last time I was stuffed up. It's a little strange to get use to, but they do help quite a bit. Â Feel Better! Â Betsy
Guest guest
No, I know better . I toyed with the idea, but I knew in the end that I had to go on the antibiotics. I'm currently battling a flare and I'm sick of pushing off the medicines back that will help me get out of it. My fingers are starting to turn outwards and I'm beginning to get nervous. Guest guest
Neti pots aren't for me. I prefer my Ayr flush kit that comes with a bottle and mixed saline packs. Guest guest
Lori and group; Lori I am so sorry to hear your fingers are turning outwards. I notice that about mine a few years ago. I hope the antibiotics works quickly for you so you can get back on the humira. I take humira injections, just started a few months ago. I could tell the difference the next morning. Ususally I ccould barely get out of bed. That morning I was amazed how easy it was to get up. I hate flares. Maybe if you call your rheumy he/she can help you with this flare. I hope you feel better. And please don't worry. I always say " worry does nothing good. " Take care and God bless. gentle hugs Clora ****************************************************************** > > No, I know better .
