Guest guest
Doreen, It's true that RA itself is associated with lung disease, but the use of some DMARDs can lead to new, and sometimes very serious, pulmonary problems. That's why it's very important for rheumatologists to, at a minimum, take a baseline x-ray before starting a patient on DMARDs, including the biologics. Thirty minutes before each Remicade treatment, I take Tylenol & Benadryl to prevent an allergic reaction and I have never had the symptoms that you describe. If it is Benadryl & Tylenol that you are pre treating with, perhaps you are allergic to one of them. If the Remicade/saline mixture is too cold, I can sometimes get a little red but I barely notice it. cea type symptoms are also a sign of Raynaud's syndrome, which is a common secondary illness. > The pre-treatment was a steroid and benedryl given before the infusion. I got the reaction one time, then was given the pre-treatment, which didn't change anything, so doubt that the pre-treatment caused the reaction. It seems there is no limit to the diseases we get once we get into the auto-immune area. dd **************Recession-proof vacation ideas.
