Guest guest
When you get sick your body is programmed to fight off infection and bacteria so it produces antibodies to fight off these things. Lupus is an autoimmune disease where you body gets confused and it mistakes your own body and cells for infection and bacteria. It therefore fights your own body thinking it is the enemy like bacteria and viruses. This in turn causes inflammation which in turn damages your body. RA is very similar but it stays more confined to the joins although it can cause problems elsewhere. In lupus it can attack any organ or system of the body. People with lupus don't have the deforming damage to the joints as much as people with ra but they can get some damage. I have been blessed with both lupus and RA although it is rare to have. I hope I explained that in laymans terms and it made sense. LOL > > > > Katy and group; > > I have heard of lupus I don't know to much about it. I know it's > bad.
