Guest guest
I wrote it like a few minutes before sending it to the group. But thank you everyone for the compliments. I just wanted to be able to put into words how important JRA awareness is. I was thinking that I will put it on the pamphlet my mom and I were making for the Arthritis walk. We're giving everyone a pamphlet to read when they donate money or even if they don't. Just to bring about awareness. It tells my story of JRA and then gives some interesting facts about the disease.. That way people can fully understand what they are donating to.. Anyway thanks everyone for the compliments I appreciate it.. Lots of Love and Hugs (poly, spondy, 19)

Guest guest
Hi , Very beautiful poem! I think it's a wonderful idea to have it published in the FACES Newsletter and I hope that you'll also send a copy to the Arthritis Foundation. He who knows it, feels it. Guest guest
Hi Fran I had my stitches out on Monday and they say it is coming along great. They will go in and remove the gortex material protection in about 3 weeks and then we will know if the bone graft took. I still remain on a soft diet and need something to crunch. I miss my all time favortie snack, fat free popcorn. I was doing real good in the pain department, but it decided to find me again today. I wonder if it is the dampness in the air. I was much better in the single digit figures like 0 to 5. The air seemed drier. I just try not to think about it and do some productive sewing. I just get so upset when I can't do what I used to. Anyway, take care. Barb
Guest guest
Heidi, So sorry to hear about your pain. Please call your rheumatologist. Yes, RA can affect the temporomandibular joints (TMJs). It's not the same thing as arteritis (inflammation of an artery). Guest guest
I am just on the down side of a flare in my left jaw. If there is a joint it seems RA can effect it. I took my normal meds for it but it was very aggravating. Since I have no dental issues I am sure it was RA, felt like it, acted like it, and the meds were effective with it. That was my expereince. Stan, Seattle, Cloudy. I know I have seen posts in the past , but can someone refresh my memory and tell me if it's possible to get RA in the jaw?I have had RA since 2001 and I am slowly going downhill with it, but the last week, my right jaw has been killing me! I dont even want to open my mouth,Its right by the temple area, begining of jaw. What do they do for it?Also, is it the same as ARTERITIS, not arthritis. Thanks Heidi in PA
Guest guest
Hi Heidi, I also have terrible pain in my jaw. It has kept me awake several nights. I had an MRI done last week. My right temporal condoyle (pointy party of the jawbone where it connects to the skull up by your ear) is severely dysfunctional. My rheumy referred me to an oral surgeon. I meet with him on Wednesday. So that's what I have to do. I'll let you know what goes down. G I know I have seen posts in the past , but can someone refresh my memory and tell me if it's possible to get RA in the jaw?I have had RA since 2001 and I am slowly going downhill with it, but the last week, my right jaw has been killing me! I dont even want to open my mouth,Its right by the temple area, begining of jaw. What do they do for it?Also, is it the same as ARTERITIS, not arthritis. Thanks Heidi in PA
