Guest guest
Hi...has anyone had to go off all biologic meds, or could not take them at all to start with? I am potentially facing being off them/staying off them and wonder what else folks try. I have already done the older meds, and have been on biologics for quite a few years. What do I do if I cannot take them at all? What other treatments have you tried? Any successes? Does anyone use natural or homeopathic remedies? Successes there? Any input very appreciated! Thanks... Guest guest
Hi Cherlye, Are you able to take methotrexate? I have been on biologic meds, along with mtx since 04. I do believe that is what keeps me out of a wheelchair. I don't even won't to imagine how I would do, without taking any RA meds. I do have severe RA, and so I feel so much pain on a daily basis anyway. I feel its important to take a RA med to help stop the progession of the disease, and deformity. There are quite a few meds out there, besides biologic ones. I hope someone can share something that will work for you. I would talk to your rheumy also, and see what they advice. Take care, and nice to see you posting, Tawny > > Hi...has anyone had to go off all biologic meds, or could not take them at all to start with? Guest guest
I am trying something, I hope it works. I hope I can do it. I went off all meds and am seeing a naturopathic. I fasted for 7 days, water only. The pain subsided by about 75%. My doctor wanted me to fast longer adding juice. I only did it for 1 day because I was so exhausted. I had some chicken broth in the freezer so I heated that up and added it he second day. I have a little more energy. The third day I added butternut squash, I ran it through the food processor, today I added cantaloupe. My joints feel pretty good with the exception of my knees, they are a little stiff and hurt when I get up off a chair. I know there are certain foods that trigger my pain, potatoes and tomato sauce. So if this is food related I figured I would never find out till I tried it. So I am trying to find my bad foods. I am first adding the ones that I feel are safe.
