a friend who exhausted all options with Crohn's disease was sent to the top

Chron's guru, traveled far and got several pointers, but it took near death a

few times before his managed health care referred him to the top guru

Is there such a person with RA?

Who is considered the expert in this field?  Or the top location for treating

RA?

I am frustrated with my rheumy who keeps saying " I don't know " .  I appreciate

his honesty but 6 months of no answers is worrying me.  I was mis-diagnosed for

3 years before that, and get worried when I hear aggressive immediate treatment

is the best thing for RA....I'm already 3 years behind

Hi & group,

I too become very frustrated by the same thing, however I like to try &

step in other peoples shoes (eg.the Rheumies) & try & see their

perspective.

What I see is; These are doctors treating a disease that they don't

know what causes it, they can't accurately predict it's onset or

progress, that the symptoms of vary day to day & they are treating it

with drugs that they don't really know how they work.

Oftentimes when your read an article on RA there will be at least a

couple of time where the phase " cause unknown " will come up.

,

If your diagnosis is in question, s Hopkins in Baltimore, MD; Mayo

Clinic in Rochester, MN; Hospital for Special Surgery in NY, NY; and

the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH are good bets.

Not an MD
