Guest guest
Hi Group, I've had a stomach bug for a few days now and my rheumy advised me not to take my MTX yesterday. I can resume it next Thursday. I have to say I feel kind of strange without it, it usually gives me a boost of energy by today already. My right knee is a little swollen. I fear that my week is going downhill until next Thursday. Does it wear off that fast? I am really looking forward to Monday now as it's Enbrel day. I feel like a lab rat, so conditioned to my med days. I'd be really interested to hear peoples experiences with time away from MTX and how their body has reacted to it , did the pain come back right away, etc. I have 2 interviews next week and need to be feeling good! Thanks in advance. Hope you all are feeling well. Hugs and smiles, Heidi in Mass. **************Get the Moviefone Toolbar. Guest guest
Heidi, I haven't had to go off my Methlytrexate since I started it over a year ago, but I did have to stop the enbrel for two weeks due to an upper respiratory infection. The first week there was nothing unusual, but the second week I was nearly begging to be allowed to get my shot... I hope everything works out for you! Also good luck on your interviews! Guest guest
Hi Heidi - I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. I hope you are better soon and wish you luck with your interviews. I don't know how fast the MTX wears off or how quickly it gets back into our system, but I pray that this one week without it won't throw you into a flare. My thoughts are that the additional swelling and pain you are feeling are a result of the bug you've had and your immune system is working even harder than usual to fight it off. Take care. Keep us posted..........Doreen > > Hi Group, > > I've had a stomach bug for a few days now and my rheumy advised me > not to take my MTX yesterday. I can resume it next Thursday. Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, Doreen, Barbara, Clora, and Group, Happy Sunday! I'm feeling much better. Glad that stomach thing was short lived. I'm feeling a bit slugglish on the stairs, etc. but I'm still getting things done , running around, etc. I went to a Christmas fair yesterday and did not enjoy the concrete pavement, but I don't think that had anything to do with not taking MTX on Thursday. That is normal for me, it hurts my hips and lower back alot! I'm looking forward to these interviews this week and hope something comes of it even if it's just part-time. Take care everyone!
