Guest guest
Missie, Don't give up hope! There are many more medicines and combinations that you can try. I have been on every drug and combination known to man and each one offered some relief. They didn't last long, but any relief is a welcome reprieve. I just had to stop Cimzia after 7 months but it worked pretty well. I was also taking Arava with the Cimzia which helped until the side effects kicked in. I was also on injectable gold a few years ago which also helped. If you can no longer tolerate prednisone, ask your doc about depomedrol injections. While you don't want to use this long term, it certainly helps to ease the pain and inflammation and can serve as bridge therapy until you find a med or combo that will work for you. I feel your pain, as I had young ones too when I was first diagnosed and it was extremely difficult to manage a toddler, infant and my third most unruly child, the RA. Don't ever give up hope. Go out and get second and third opinions if you can. I wish you all the best. Keep fighting! Best, Lenae > > I am stuck. My doctor admitted to me that he is out of options and doesn't know what else to do with me. He is one of the best doctors in the area. I have tried MTX, Enbrel, Humira, and now I am on Remicade. Prednisone was kind of a band-aid for me. It was the only thing working, but started to have negative effects on my body, and then slowly stopped working. I have my 3rd dose of Remicade on 11/15, and I hope it starts working. I am forced to go on Short Term Disability, because I don't know what else to do. I need to take pain killers to help with the massive amounts of pain I am in, but I cannot drive or work on them. If I get caught taking them at work, I will lose my job. I also have 2 small children at home, 2 and 4, that I can barely care for. I am miserable, and feel like I have no future. > Has anyone else had this problem? Guest guest
I take MTX and Rituxan. The rituan is works differently than all the other infusion meds. I like that I have 1 infusion every 5 months. You can research it at www.rituxan.com You should discuss this with your Rheumy. in MN
Guest guest
Thanks, I'll ask my Rheumy about those. The depo shots did NOTHING for me. Not one noticeable difference. I hope you find something as well! Missie
Guest guest
What about Orencia? Sue On Oct 28, 2010, at 4:20 PM, missieph wrote: > Has anyone else had this problem? Guest guest
Missy, I have also been on all those drugs. I went on Orencia and it worked for over a year for me. I recently tried Rituxin and that was a disaster. I am hoping that since I have been off Orencia for ten months that it will work for me again. Good luck!
