Guest guest
I was just letting ya know Ms Sue- I HATE reading labels myself, but when I don't, it gets me into trouble. So grab a bottle & let me know- I don't go to town much. I live in the middle of the woods. But I'll bet the carbs aren't changed by much- doubt even half. It's an energy drink after all- and that is based on carb load. I don't like soda pop much either, but when I have to mix with stuff- I use diet mountain dew. I dislike regular MD. For muscle spasms, my old Rheumy had me mix tonic water ( for the small amount of Quinine ) and that wasn't all that bad... worked too! ( I thought he was nuts when he suggested it ). Now I use diet MD to mix my whatever with. Like fiber powders & such. Give it a whirl. in SC I'm well aware of that, LOL. The Gatorade that I used had 14 carbs for 8 oz., a total of about 100 in a 5-hour period. It's a wonder my BG didn't go higher than 147, but then that was all I was consuming. But if there is a sugar-free Gatorade, surely the carbs would be somewhat reduced.
Guest guest
This was not my choice; I was just following instructions from the doctor for my prep. Next time I'll be aware of the many carbs in Gatorade and ask if I can use a diet something-or-other. The nurse said that they like the Gatorade because it has electrolytes in it. But for a diabetic, I think the carbs trump that, LOL.
